Trip home to Utah

Jesse and I went HOME to Utah last week (May 28-June 3)! We had a wonderful time with our families and it was so good to see them and hang out. My Grandma Vi and Grandpa Pat even drove from California to come and be there at my moms while we were there. So sweet and great to see them. Well after a long plane ride to UT on Thurs. we arrive at midnight and were greeting with much enthusiasm from my mom and sister Char. The next day we took the Front Runner to Salt Lake City, did a live session in the Salt Lake Temple, and went to the Spaghetti Factory (tradition) with my family. I was a busy, but great day. Saturday I went wedding dress shopping for Char (sister) with my mom and sister. We had a blast. Leave it to us girls to be silly :) I took lots of pictures even though I wasn't suppose to. She choose a dress that is stunning on her and she looked so beautiful. I can't wait to see her on her wedding day. She actually found "the dress" and bought it that day. Then we went to Golden Jade with Jesse's dad and brothers that evening. That's our favorite Chinese restaurant and we miss it. Chinese food out here isn't that great. Sunday we went to church with my family and it was great. Charlotte taught a great lesson from preach my gospel. Then just hung out with the family and had an amazing turkey dinner with all the fixins'. We played the Wi and some other games that evening with was so much fun. Monday we went to see my Grandpa Wally. He has recently been placed in an assisting living facility because he is recovering from hip replacement surgery. It was so good to see him and talk with him. He is an amazing man and great example to me. Love him so much and glad he is still with us. Then we headed to W. Jordon (part of SLC) to Jesse's sister's home and had a great lunch with her and Trevor (our nephew). Then went to the Oqurirrah Mountain temple open house. It's a beautiful temple! And the 4th temple to be built in the salt lake valley now. I love temples and the blessing we receive within their walls. Then we drove home and hung out with my family the rest of the evening. Wends I went to see the girls I worked with before we moved at Heritage Dental. I spent their lunch with them and it was so good to see them. I sure miss that office and my friends there. Then did some shopping at Deseret Book and the Church Distribution center. I sure miss having those type of places close by! Miss that. And then spent time with family that night. Wends our flight was very early so we had to say goodbye too soon :( Then spent 12 hours altogether traveling home. Yuck :( And I got sick on the plane ride home. My throat started to hurt. Well I was very sick by 3:00 am the next morning. Went to the doctor and found out I had strep throat. So recovered from that the rest of the week and all weekend. We had a great time with our families and miss them so much already. So grateful we were able to go back home and can't wait to see them again in December for Char's wedding. Unless it gets moved up. He he!

MUSIC!

So I have recently been loving new music and i-tunes! I have discovered Genius on i-tunes and it's awesome. If you haven't checked it out do it. It's helped me discover new artists that I never would've known about. So I added all my new music to my playlist. It starts with my favorite new tunes, but I can't figure out how to turn my playlist off shuffle. So if you go to #1 and down hopefully you'll enjoy the tunes too. And I am so excited to come home to Utah in a few weeks! I've missed my family so much and I am so excited to see them. I thank the good Lord for all my blessings each day and the opportunity to see my family again!

Thankyou!

I want to thank all of you who follow my blog and have shown me love and support. Jesse and I are so grateful for you in our lives. I know the Lord gives us friends and family in our lives to help each other and love one another. I have truly felt that support and love this past month and thank you for that. I am doing well and hope to have success in becoming pregnant in the fall. I received a luprone depo shot last week to help suppress the endometreosis. It is a 3 month hormone releasing treatment that shuts down my ovaries and puts me into a temporary menopause. Then after that 3 month treatment and the medicine is out of my system my ovaries kick in to high gear and hopefully increase fertility. So for now we are taking a break from trying and we pray this will help.
Jesse finished his first year of Pharmacy school last week and I am so proud of him. And I can't believe a year has gone by already. He did well and getting a 3.5 GPA for the year. This last Friday we were out doing some shopping and he said "We need to get home, I have to study for a test". I didn't think anything about it as we were headed home and then he just started laughing. I asked what he was laughing about and he said "I done with school, it's summer remember?" I started laughing, because I'm so use to him having school and tests and homework. Ah the life of a school widow. Jesse starts a 2 week internship at a hospital pharmacy tomorrow. He looks forward to learning more and being in a different pharmacy environment. Then after two weeks he will look for a job at a pharmacy for the summer. He has one prospect already, so we'll see.
Our other news is we a going home the 28th and will be there until the 3rd of June. So 5 days. We look forward to seeing our family and friends! It's been 9 months! Grateful the price of flights to UT went down so much. Yeah Utah! Well that is all our news for now. Thanks for your support and love.

Surgery Results

For those of you who know me well know that Jesse and I have been trying to get pregnant for the past 3 and a half years. We have been unsuccessful to create a baby and it has been difficult for us, especially for me. I have gone through testing and he has gone through testing, but no reasons found to prevent pregnancy. It has been a very frustrating thing for me to not get pregnant and have no reason why or what could possibly be preventing it. Well when we moved here to Charlotte and I had health insurance I made an appointment with a doctor that was recommended to me by a ward member. He is an awesome and kind doctor who truly cares. I feel comfortable with him and his knowledge and skill, which is important in a relationship with a doctor. Especially that kind of doctor. So after my first visit we discussed all of my past history and tests. I explained that my monthly period and other things have changed the past year and was concerned that I could have endometreosis. He felt like the changes I've had could very well be endometreosis and I had the symptoms of it. So he ordered an ultrasound to take a better look at my ovaries and uterus. Well the results of the ultrasound were interesting. It showed what appeared to be a large cyst off of my right ovary. So he gave me the choice to have a laparoscopy or to just wait 6 weeks and do another ultrasound to see if there are any changes. I opted for the surgery to get things moving and find out for sure if I have endometreosis. Well I had the surgery yesterday the 3rd of April @ 7:00 am. I was put under I.V. sedation. The results of the surgery were positive. I definitely have endometreosis! He removed a large cyst off of my right ovary and a small blood filled cyst off of my left ovary. In talking with him he said I had a pretty severe case of endometreosis and he removed approx 15 implantations around my uterus and ovaries. He also put dye through my fallopian tubes to make sure they were clear, and they are. And while he was in there he checked my appendix and liver. They are fine. They took pictures of all the implants before they were removed and then pictures after. So cool that they can do that. So I am home now recovering from this. I got home about 1:30 yesterday. The surgery took 2 hours and then it took me another 2-3 to wake up and be alert enough to get dressed and in the car. I am pretty sore and sleeping a lot. But I am so glad he found something and that it was successful. He feels like it will help with my infertility. So we will see! I am hoping. He said in 6 weeks if I am not pregnant that I will receive a depo shot for 6 months. It basically put me into menopause and I wont ovulate for that period of time. The reason for this is to get rid of any endometreosis that could still form. I will probably have hot flashes and other symptoms from it though. But if it helps it will be ok. So that's the scoop on me. Thank you to my family who has cared and supported me through all of this. And thank you to all my friends. Your love and support had meant so much to me.

Florida Vacation Pictures!

Florida Vacation

Jesse and I went to Orlando Florida March 13th-21st. We has a great time and the weather was warm and sunny. We arrived at Disney World Coronado Springs Resort at 3:30 am. It took 12 hours to get there for some reason. It should have only taken 8 hours, but our GPS unit for some reason guided us a weird way. We don't even know how or why. Maybe the Lord knew if we went the direct route there could've been danger and he lead us around it. It only took 9 hours to get home. Kinda crazy! So we started the next day with 4 and a half hours of sleep and went to Hollywood Studios. What a fun park. We ate at a restaurant called 50's Primetime Cafe that was so fun. The "cast members" (workers) call you kids and all the other people eating there are your cousins. The decor is straight from the 50's and the food was good home cookin. We got a "clean plate" sticker too. The next day we went to the Magic Kingdom. Half the rides there are kid rides, so we did all of our favorites and skipped the kiddie rides. I love Splash Mountain, and got pretty wet. We ate at a restaurant in the Contemparary Resort called The California Grill. It was amazing and had the best view of the Magic Kingdom. We missed the firework show by an hour because our reservation was at 9:40 and the fireworks were at 9:00. I was bummed because I wanted to see those from that view. We both had a filet mingon steak with asparagus and mashed potatoes. It was the best steak I've ever had! Melted in our mouths! And the rest of the meal including dessert was amazing too! The 3rd day was at the Animal Kingdom. I'd never been to this park before and it was pretty cool. We saw everything their except the Nemo and Friends show. The rides were cool. I loved the Mt. Everest Expedition ride. It takes you backwards fast for part of the ride. Jesse lost his sunglasses on this ride, but after we got off I asked the workers if they could caeck the seat we were in for them. They found them! A miracle. If they weren't expensive glassed I wouldn't have cared so much. Anyhoo. We ate at the Yak and Yeti restaurant which is asian food. I had Mahi Mahi for the first time and loved it. We saw the Jammin Jungle parade which is a fun parade. The 4th day we went to Epcot! We loved this park. We did the World Showcase for most the day. I love the countries and stores and restaurants there. We ate some pastries in France for breakfast. Then saw all the other countries throughout the day. Jesse's favorite country was Morocco. My favorite was Germany, France, and Italy, and the UK. I just long to go to Europe someday. We ate at Tutto Italia restaurant that evening. I must say that my Lasagne was best I've ever had. Sorry mom, I still love yours though. And one cool thing about Disney is they actually recruit people from the countries to work in the shops, restaurants, and rides. So it's as authentic as you can get. We saw the Illuminations show that evening to end the day. The next day we headed to Sea World. We had a great time there and saw all the shows, ending with Shamu. I don't think the Shamu in San Diego is the real one. This one definitly was. He was huge! They have a few rides too, which one I did by myself. Kraken is a pretty crazy roller coaster and so much fun. Jesse would have hated it, but I loved it. And we did Journey of Atlantis together. We got pretty wet on this ride. It was very fun! Then we got back to the hotel and decided to go see the ten o'clock showing of Fantasmic at Hollywood Studios. It only played a few nights a week and this was our only chance since we didn't have a park hopper. I am so glad we got to see it. It was amazing, but would be scary for little kids. With us seeing all the parks we had two days left to decide what two parks we wanted to go back to. So the next day we went to Epcot. We did the Future Showcase and rode all the rides and saw the future stuff. I remember vividly from being at DisneyWorld when I was 13, the hydroplants and that ride. And eating at the restaurant where you they use the food that is grown there. We also did the ride that spirals up the big Epcot globe. And a few new rides there are Mission Space, which has a tame version and a intense version. I did both, and Jesse did the tame. I just waited in line by myself for the intense one, which i did for about 4-5 rides througout the parks. The ride imitates how it feels to be launched into space. So cool. The intense version you actually spin to feel the G forces like you would in a shuttle. If you look to the side and not straight ahead you will get sick. So I made sure to look straight ahead. It was cool, but definitly felt a little uneasy fro about 20 min after the ride. Worth it though. Another new ride it Test Track. Your in a "race car" and it takes you through what crash test dummies go through. But it really wasen't much different than Jesse's driving. At the end you go 70 mph outside through some very windy parts, which was a lot of fun. And they have a nemo ride that was cute too. We saw some fun show in the countries too. Jesse was called on to help in a show with French waiters because they needed someone tall. He thought that was pretty cool. That evening we went to Cirque de Solei show called La Nuba. It's in Downtown Disney, which is a lot bigger than the one is California. We loved that show! It was amazing and unbelivable. The last day we went to Hollywood Studios. We rode a ride twice called Aerosmith's Rockin Rollercoaster. It was awesome. Smooth, very fast, and in the dark with neon signs everywhere. And of course Aerosmith music. I rode Tower of Terror alone, which was fun! And we saw the Indian Jones stunt show, which Jesse loved! I remember that vividly too. Too bad they don't have the ride there. That evening we ate at the Animal Kingdom Lodge at a restaurant callled Jiko. It's an African restaurant. It was ok food. The desserts were really good though. Cool atmosphere too. Then we looked around the resort, which is amazing. Huge lodge and cool decor. It has an african safari right in the middle of the resort rooms. To wake up and see giraffes, zebra, etc would be cool! And that ended our Disney World vacations. I am so glad we got the Dining Plan with our tickets. So worth it! On our way home we stopped in St. Augestine which is the oldest city in Florida. It was very windy and cold that day. But we stopped at the beach and dipped our feet in the Atlantic Ocean. This was our fist time there! We got some seashells too, which are everywhere. We didn't have time to see the city of St. Augestine, which I am sad about. But we had to get back. We had a wonderful time and made a lot of memories! I love vacation!

February!

So it's been a pretty calm month. Not a lot of news or pictures. But I am being bugged to update my blog. So here it is. The highlight of this month is Valentines day, and it was wonderful! Jesse woke up early and went shopping for me. He bought me flowers, two cards (one funny and one romantic), and some cute green Irish pajamas. I love pajamas if you don't know that. And he had already started on house chores by the time I woke up. I woke up to the smell of pine sol, mmm clean! So the pictures are of Valentines morning. Then later that evening we went to our favorite Italian restaurant. We had our favorite waitress who is so cute and Italian. She brought us some fried mozzarella cheese on the house which was so nice. They serve so much food there! We had Spumoni ice cream for dessert which is imported from Italy. It was good! Tasted a lot like Farrs, but a little better. Then we went home and Jesse gave me a massage and ... Then he drew me a bath with rose pedals and candles. So romantic. Zoe loves to lick bath water off of our fingers but we would not let her in during our bath so she was whining at the door. She is so funny and spoiled. After our bath I let her lick the water off of the rose pedals and she loved it. She kept biting the rose pedals too. So that was our Valentines day. Oh and we went to Target and got Jesse some button down shirts. They are cool looking and he looks hot in them. Which is odd to find nice shirts at Target for him. We are getting very excited for our Disneyworld/Seaworld trip. It is in 2 weeks! So there will definitely be pics posted of that. Thanks to everyone who follows my blog and loves us! We miss those of you who are far away and hope to be coming home this summer! Oh and by the way it's snowing! We are expecting 3-8 inches in Charlotte. Very rare for N. Carolina. Maybe going into work late tomorrow. Or not at all.
